Big and Not So Big

Over the years we have done lighting for many homes, big and small. When I talk to a potential client, I often hear them say “you do so many beautiful homes and our home is not like the ones that you usually do”. Usually do? Let’s clarify that. We do big lighting jobs, small lighting jobs and anywhere in between and treat them all alike. When their installation is complete, we want them to be happy with the results and pleased that they chose Beautiful Nights to help them create their own “beautiful night”.

Some of My Favorites

When I used to do landscape installations, some of my favorite jobs were small, intimate garden spaces. A 30′ x 25′ walled townhouse was always great. It became a secret garden. What was behind those walls passerbys may wonder. And we would always try to create a lush garden, often as an extension of the indoor living space. An outdoor room you might call it. And the same goes for lighting. Like this one, it is a small walled garden in Olde Towne Alexandria. The attractive walls were washed, lights in a tree using a beautiful downlight and even some lights embedded in the stone work patio.

Traditional Homes Too!

This home that we recently completed in Herndon is another great example. The homeowners had just had the red brick home painted white and accented with black shutters. We used lamps of varying beam widths to wash the newly painted walls with a soft light. But the star of the property were its trees. We paid extra care to light 10 trees so that they would stand out and add a 3 dimensional effect to the property. We were very successful and the homeowners were thrilled with the results.
